PRIDE Card Winners

Please see Mrs. Wise in the ERC to claim your prize.  Thank you to all staff members who participated by giving out PRIDE cards this week Students, if you earn a PRIDE card, be sure to drop it in the bucket in the attendance office. There will be another PRIDE card drawing next Friday, October 26.

Otterbein University

Attention juniors and seniors who may be interested in attending Otterbein University: on Friday, Nov. 16 we will taking a full day field trip to Otterbein.  Busing and lunch will be provided. We are limited to 16 students for this visit. Please see Mr. Corbett before November 1st for additional information and the field trip permission form.

Math Lab

Students: are you struggling with your math homework or need extra help preparing for a quiz or test?? Then come to the Math Lab in room 306 ALL periods of the day. The Math Lab is staffed EVERY period of the day with a math teacher who can help you! Come visit us during study hall, lunch, or lock out!!

School Photos

The school photographer is here for Retakes.  If you don't like your pictures, you can have them retaken no questions asked.  BUT, you must return your entire picture package in order to do so. If you are a new student or missed the previous dates, you should get your picture taken, also.   The photographer will be in the ERC from 9:30-2:00 so stop by during your lunch period if you need to get your picture taken.

Homecoming Lost and Found

Did you attend the homecoming dance on Saturday?  If so, did you leave something behind? If you forgot your shoes, suspenders or a tie, come see Mr. Crabtree in room 709 to claim your stuff.  Anything not claimed this week will be placed in the lost and found in the attendance office.

College Credit Plus

Registration is now open for Spring 2019 College Credit Plus classes at Columbus State.  Do not wait until the last minute to register or you may not get into the classes you would like.  If you are considering Spring CCP, it is in your best interest to register as soon as possible. See your school counselor ASAP to get a Columbus State Registration Form or to ask any questions.

Financial Aid Meeting

GCHS is hosting a Financial Aid meeting this evening (10/18) at 6:30pm in the Auditorium.  Any students or guardians interested in learning about the FAFSA or the financial aid process should plan to attend.

LGBT History Month

October is LGBT History Month! See Mrs. Wise in the ERC for a book list of some realistic young adult fiction with LBGTQIA themes or characters, as well as some non-fiction titles, for teens (and adults!) to explore.

OSU Pharmacy Day

Interested in a pharmacy career? There is still time to register for The Ohio State University Pharmacy Day on October 20, 2018 from 11:00am-3:30pm.  You can register online at http://go.osu.edu/pharmacydayfall2018.  During this free event, you’ll get the chance to:  Explore careers in Pharmacy practice and research; Learn about how a Pharmaceutical Sciences education can prepare you for your next step, even if that’s a career as a researcher, a physician, a dentist, optometrist, and many others; Learn about our undergraduate major, The Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences (http://go.osu.edu/bsps); Explore our Early Admissions Pathway for high-school seniors, which guarantees you admission to the PharmD program once you graduate with your bachelor’s degree (http://go.osu.edu/copeap).  If you have any questions, please email COP-PharmacyDay@osu.edu.

Clubs / Organizations


Veteran's Day is quickly approaching and the Grove City NJROTC is committed to honoring those who have served or are currently serving in our armed services. This year, the NJROTC is leading the way to provide needed items to currently deployed military men and women. The cadets will be sending care packages to all branches of the military. NJROTC is asking students and teachers to bring in  donations this week so that the cadets can assemble care packages. Items they are looking for are SMALL SIZE hygiene items like deodorant, shampoo, shaving cream. Individually wrapped snack items and gum, to name a few. For a full list of needed items, please see a cadet. Please drop off items in the ROTC room, 207. Items can also be dropped off until November 9th.


Attention Seniors: It is time to vote for senior superlatives.  The form to vote is in your email. Voting will be open until October 31st.  Don't forget to vote!

Spanish Club

Buenos días! We are planning our next Spanish Club meeting for Monday, November 5th! We will celebrate Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Please bring your dues: they are $10 for the year. We hope to see you there!


There will be no SLAM meeting this week due to parent-teacher conferences. Please join us next Thursday, the 25th, from 3:30-4:30 in the ERC-D.

Dawgs for Christ

All students and staff that didn't get to buy a Dawgs For Christ t-shirt or sweatshirt  to wear on Thursdays are in luck! You may still order your spirit wear by coming to room 305 and picking up your order form and turning it in with your money by Friday, October 19th. There are still medium, Large and xl short sleeve t-shirts available to pick up same day for $12 if interested too.  Also, there are sign ups for community service available in that same room with some open spots but they are going fast!

Renaissance Club

There will be no Renaissance Club meeting this week due to parent-teacher conferences. The meeting that was scheduled for Thursday, October 18 has been moved to Thursday, October 25. We'll see you next week!

    10/18  Varsity Girls Soccer vs Pickerington Central - 5pm. (Game will be played at Pickerington North)
    10/18 Varsity Girls Volleyball vs Westerville Central - 6pm (HOME game)


There will be a wrestler and  parent meeting Wednesday, October 24 at 7pm in the ERC.

Track and Field

Attention all track and field athletes that are not currently in a fall sport.  Off season conditioning will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday starting October 15th at 5:00-6:30 in the Rec Center and continuing through December.  Any questions, see Coach Taylor.
