General Information

Columbus State Visit Day

What are you doing this Friday on your day off?  If the answer is, nothing, then consider taking a visit to a college campus!  Columbus State Community College is hosting a Visit Day this Friday (10/20) and November 17th.  Visit cscc.edu/VisitDay to register.  If you are interested in visiting a different college campus, go to that university's website and schedule your visit there.

College Credit Plus

Attention anyone interested in taking College Credit Plus classes.  Spring semester registration for Columbus State CCP courses is open.  The spring semester courses are listed on Columbus State's website.  Students are encouraged to see their school counselor as soon as possible to make sure the proper steps are taken to register for classes.  Also, remember that Megan Hatton, an Early College Advisor at Columbus State, is here every Thursday in the small conference room to answer any questions.

Earn College Credit While Traveling!

Attention students interested in earning some college credit while traveling: Hillsdale College offers multiple summer programs including trips to England, France, or Italy as well as trips within the US to Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. Clubs / Organizations

PTA Reflections Art competition

Listen up all you creative and talented students:  The PTA Reflections Art competition is underway. This year’s theme is “Within Reach”.   Think about the theme and create your masterpiece in any or all of the categories:  Visual Art, Literature, Photography, Film Production, Music Composition and Dance Choreography.  A flyer detailing the specific rules for each category and the Entry Form can be picked up in the main office, or from your Art, Music, or English teacher.  Turn in your entry to your teacher or the office before November 20th.

Attention Seniors!

Attention Seniors!  You must be paying close attention to college application deadlines and DO NOT wait until the last minute to apply.  Some deadlines are quickly approaching and teachers/counselors cannot submit documentation when you procrastinate until the last minute.  If your school has an early deadline such as November 1st, you should aim to submit your application several days early, in case you miss something.  See your school counselor if you need any assistance.

Art Club

Art Club will not be held this week because it conflicts with parent/ teacher conferences.
