Attn Freshmen:

Attention Freshman:  Do you have a picture of you in the stand on a Football Friday Night?  The yearbook needs some pictures of the freshman cheering on the Dawgs!  Email your picture to heather.sayre@swcsd.us.

Class Rings

Class ring delivery day is coming!  Jostens will be here to deliver class rings and jewelry orders on Friday, December 15th during the lunch periods in the cafeteria.  Please remember to bring your final payment.  Invoices have been emailed to you. If you are unsure of your balance due please call 1-800-jostens.
Any student who would still like to place an order for a ring or jewelry piece can order on this day.  Please bring your order form (available in office or online) and a $50.00 deposit.  Any questions please call 1-800-Jostens.

"Engineer for a day"

Interested in engineering?  See your counselor about being selected to attend "Engineer for a day" on Thursday February 22nd.  Engineering is multi-faceted including mechanical, electrical, structural design and detailing, site-work for residential and commercial developments and utility design, transportation, highway and bridge design, environmental, and water/wastewater treatment design. Students selected will be the guest of an engineer host at their place of employment.  Students will have to provide their own transportation to the engineer's employer.


OK Everyone Listen Up! Next week is semester exam week - if you plan to be absent or leave early any day next week (December 18 to December 20) have your parents call in NOW to report you absent or request an out of building pass. All requests MUST BE IN BY THIS FRIDAY. Remember you cannot leave and return the same day to take an exam unless you have a court, funeral or medical excuse.

No Tech Tuesday

Don't forget, TODAY is No-Tech Tuesday in the library! Activities will include board games, Lego challenges, coloring, wrapping paper designing, and you can make your own gift boxes from old playing cards. Leave your phones and other devices in your bookbag and come enjoy the fun!

Clubs / Organizations

Research Club

Research Club will meet after school today to check in with Mrs. Weethee on the progress of your project. If you cannot make it today, please see Mrs. Weethee.

Art Club

Art Club will meet for the last time in 2017 this Thursday in GH 5 from 3:30-4:30.  All who enjoy art are welcome.


SAGA, the Sexualities and Gender Alliance, will be meeting TODAY from 3:30-4:30 in room 707. Come join us!

Spanish Club

Feliz Navidad! Come join Spanish Club for its’ next meeting on Wednesday, December 13th at 3:30 in the ERC-C. We will be singing Spanish carols and making Christmas cards. If you have not yet paid your dues be sure to bring $10 to the meeting. We will also be voting on Spanish Club t-shirts for this year. Many people signed up to bring food, drinks, or utensils. Please check the list outside of room 903 to verify what you are bringing to Wednesday's meeting. Hasta pronto!

Firefighters 4 Kids

The holidays are filled with happiness, friends and family. Children especially look forward to the fun and presents. Grove City Cheer and the Boys Basketball Teams are hosting a Toy Drive, for Firefighters 4 Kids, to bring joy to children, one present at a time, this season! We will accept new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0-14. The toy drive will run from December 1- December 19. Bring all donations to the boys basketball games. A donation box will be located when entering the gym. For each toy donation, we will be handing out raffle tickets. This ticket will be used to draw a lucky winner for a 15 game season pass to the basketball games! We will draw a winner at the December 19th game. Go Hounds!

Dawgs for Christ

Dawgs for Christ will have their last meeting of the semester on December 14. Megan June, Jason June, Emily Allen, Allyson Schall and Quentin Baker will each be bringing 2 dozen donuts while Emily Tyler and Maria Rossi will both be bringing drinks and Sarah Wittenberg with the paper products. Kyleigh McAllister will be presenting a message at 7:30.

Youth and Government

Attention Youth and Government members: there will be a meeting TODAY, December 12th after school at 3:30 in room 905.  We will begin writing our bills, so make sure that you are present and have your topics ready to go over.  If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mr. McDowell or Mr. Howard in the Social Studies Office.

Ski and Snowboard Club

Do you like to ski or snowboard?  It is not too late to join the Ski Club trips to Mad River in January and February. See Mr. Freeman in Room 302. Even if you do not join the club, you can purchase a discounted season pass for Mad River. Go to SkiMadRiver.com and choose the ski club group login. The group name is grovecity (all one word and no spaces) and the password is dawgs.  You must purchase the passes by Friday, December 15th!

Columbus Zoo

Attention any students interested in taking advantage of a unique experience their Junior and Senior years in high school through the Columbus Zoo! Delaware Area Career Center is currently accepting applications for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Program, located on-site at the Columbus Zoo. This DACC program is a high level research-based program that presents a number of opportunities for academic-minded students to excel. It provides real world experiences in an authentic learning environment. More information and important dates can be found at:



Ultimate Club

Grove City Ultimate Club is recruiting for the spring season. There will be an informational meeting about the season, and how to sign up for the league TODAY, December 12th at 6pm in room 116 at Jackson Middle School. More information is available from team members.


The wrestling team wanted to personally invite the girls & boys basketball teams, as well as their coaches, to their match this Thursday against Westerville South at GC.  Additionally, would like to see as many teachers and staff at the meet as well.


Congratulations to the Girls swim team-- they placed 3rd overall in last night's swim meet.  Congrats to Byas,Christie,Jordan, and Trimble who won the 400 free relay.

Attention all Track athletes that are not in a winter sport. Track conditioning will be every Monday and Wednesday from 4:00-5:30 in the Rec Center weight room with Coach Pierce and Coach Taylor. Any questions see Coach Jane Taylor. Come dressed and ready to work.
